preschool picnic lunch

It was HJ's first preschool field trip.  They have asked the parents to pack their child a picnic lunch box.  I too remember going on one of these field trips in Korea when I was a little girl.  Opening a handmade lunch box that your mom packed you and eating that outdoors with your friends is priceless.  I got super excited when it came my turn to pack him his first picnic lunch.  I started planning out what I was going to make a whole week before.  The night before the actual day, I set my alarm clock to 6 am.  It took me few hours to fall asleep.  My head was filled with picnic and his lunch box.  Then I had a dream that the next day I slept in and HJ was crying because he had missed his field trip.  I woke up horrified, looked at the time and realized it was 5:30 am.  I had waken up 30 min. before. Yes it took me more than two hours to make this lunch haha.  But I have to say, I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.  On the first row of his lunch box I made Mini kimbop rolls that are about a size of a quarter.  I also made flying fish roe rice balls with cheese on the top. I also made a quail’s egg turned into a chicken, and a mini octopus sausage. Aren’t they the cutest!  On the top row I packed him grapes, berries, strawberries and star shaped watermelons. I added a finishing touch with small animal shaped forks, (krspy cream)hand wipes and juice.

When Kaden came back he told me that it was SO~~~ YUMMY.
